My first attempt of making a scene like this...billions and billions of polygons...puro spheres and displacement lang...I'm just trying to kill my system lol!!!
This was inspired by the movie avatar pero matagal na akong nakakakita ng mga pics na ganito before that movie..

blurry at noisy pa...low settings dahil 5 hours ata nirender habang may ginagawa akong iba kasabay as 3ds max at internet browsing... I plan to retouch it in photoshop in the near future for effects

ibang view at ibang atmosphere pero malabo pa kasi test render pa lang

no...many kilometers above the ground...and mataas ung mountain...surreal effect...at the lower left corner makikita mo ung infinite terrain...may ginagawa din akong nasa ground level....aerial perspective set to 10

ganoon ba ehe,para kasing nasa baba yung viewer looking at the floating land tapos yung bg parang ung viewer nasa taas looking downward,,or sa akin lang yun,wait nalang natin iba ehe,,we'll wait for the update thumbsup

I think I get what the comment was. Yung effect niya kasi, if you travel straight using the orientation of your islands mukhang tatama sa lupa. It's like your islands aren't parallel to the ground.

Lighting and modelling are awesome though ^^

i don't get it...sa screen or monitor ko ba ito? maybe you're pertaining na dagdagan ko pa ng fog ang advisable nga kasi set ko ung aerial perspective to 50 ginawa kong 1 lang ung akin kaya parang ganun na nga and atmospheric taasan ung quality greater than 1...ginawa kong negative ung values para marender ng mabilis...madalas kasi ako makakita ng mga ganitong scenes sa deviant...un ung mga reference ko...so surreal talaga and hindi pa po ako nakakasakay ng airplane so I have no idea what it looks like above the ground...i double checked the scene and my perspective is set to 1 and 35mm ung camera...i post some updates

actually iba iba ung altitude ung clouds 1 km ung camera 2.6 km...and pataas na nang pataas ung iba...sobrang malalayo mountain size bawat isa....pinili ko na ung pinaka mababang settings for atmosphere and lighting para hindi mag-crash....waaaahhh...ang hirap edit pa nito

nice, gawin mo sigurong random yung form ng lumulutang na lupa, magkakahawig kasi parang mga lumulutang na acorns.mas maganda kung medyo may katulisan ng konti yung ilalim nila kasi kahit paano apektado pa din sila ng gravity kulang sila ng mga kanto.mukha silang spiky kaya ibig sabihin malambot yung mga tipak ng bundok na yan.
kung sakaling may ulan diyan at matagal na silang nakalutang, matagal na din silang ubos kahit may nakabalot pang halaman sa knila..
tignan mo yung sa avatar kung panu yung itsura ng mga lumulutang na bundok dun mukha silang matatandang bato ibig sabihin matigas sila.
kung sa avatar mo siya ginaya sana ginawa mo na ring reference yung nasa movie,

hintayin ko yung next update nito.

yes i know...2 yung klase ng paggawa sa material editor...map tska procedural...mas madali sa mapped picture pero mas flexible yung procedural kasi math yung ginagamit...experiment ka mga fractals etc...tapos sa function editor mas malawak pa...node base ang paggawa ng material

i'm working on the original image...tweaking the materials a lot using hypertexture and volumetric materials...busy nga lang ako sa iban kaya di pa tapos at medyo di kinakaya ng pc ko...kaya gusto ko na ng i7...this time procedural na sa advanced material editor...mejo nalilito lang ako sa function editor pero mas nakakaaliw nga lang kasi endless yung magagawa mong effect sa material
